Fun Psychic Games for Kids

Whether or not you really believe in telepathy and psychic ability, playing psychic games can be a really fun way to spend a rainy afternoon with your kids, or for entertaining a crowd of 10-year olds at a birthday party; they’re always a crowd pleaser! Games like guessing cards, mind reading, hot and cold or dream interpretation are all good ones to have in your repertoire.

You don’t have to get regular free psychic readings to have a good time playing these games: just make sure you remember the rules and have some paper, pens and cards on hand. The card guessing game is maybe the easiest one to play. You should be familiar with this one from seeing magicians do this sort of thing on television.

Take turns with your child randomly selecting a card from the deck, and then take turns guessing which card he or she drew. Try to see if you’re ability to guess will improve over time—some say that children are naturally equipped with more finely attuned psychic abilities than adults! If you want to make a big splash at a party, though, the two of you can try working out a signal system, so that you can be safe and secure in the knowledge that you’ll be sure to impress the other kids.

Starting with the card guessing game doesn’t mean that you can graduate directly to doing tarot readings. Start with a similar, but maybe slightly more active, guessing game like hot and cold. You probably remember this game, also, from your own childhood, though you probably never thought of it as a test of your psychic powers at the time! All you need to do is hide an object somewhere in the room, while your kids keep their eyes closed. As they search for the object in the house, tell them if they’re getting “hotter” or “colder.” Just like with the card guessing game, you may find that with time, you and your children grow to be more and more psychically in tune, until the point where you can’t even play the game anymore, because they just get too good at guessing!

These guessing games are best for younger children. If you’ve already been playing them for a while, or if you have older kids, then you may want to try something a little more advanced, like dream interpretation and predictions. Sit with your kids and tell them your dreams; ask them to draw pictures of what you tell them, and then try to understand what the pictures might mean about your life and future. Then do the same for them, and wait and see if anyone’s predictions come true!
